Job Description Summary

SLCC is accepting applications for Adjunct Instructors in all disciplines!

-This is a continuous job posting for the collection of application materials for individuals interested in adjunct faculty teaching. You may or may not be contacted depending on teaching needs. All adjunct instructors are hired on a semester by semester basis.

Qualifications Desired

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Academic:
Master’s Degree in the discipline or a Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline.

Learning Foundations (Developmental English or Reading):
English:
Selected candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree in English or English Education or a Master’s Degree in English or any Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in English.

Reading:
Bachelor’s degree in English or related field with a minimum of 12 credits in Reading required.

Reading Specialist certification and teaching experience in English or Reading within Secondary or Post-Secondary preferred.

Learning Foundations (Developmental Math):
Bachelor’s Degree in Math or Math Education or a Master’s Degree in Math or any Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in Math.

Adult Education:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years of teaching in adult education or in a post-secondary setting. Master’s Degree preferred.

Technical:
Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of directly-related occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught, OR an Associate’s degree and 4 years of occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught OR relevant certificate and 5 years of experience and skill in the field to be taught and additionally:

Must have relevant current professional certification or licensure in the field to be taught.
Must have appropriate educational qualifications, as determined by the relevant programmatic accreditation agency, to act in the required positional role.
Completion of education – Teaching and learning in the Community College within 2 years of the first hire date.
