Position Title Adjunct Faculty – Speech & Communication
Job Description Summary

The Department of Arts & Humanities seeks qualified adjunct applications for the Spring 2018 semester and beyond in the area of Speech & Communications. Adjuncts are hired by the Department and South Louisiana Community College on a term by term basis for need, and those interested in teaching face-to-face courses at our Lafayette or regional campuses (located in New Iberia, St. Martinville, Abbeville, Crowley, Ville Platte, Opelousas, Franklin & Morgan City) should reside within the area or part of region where teaching interest lies, or be willing to commute to one or more SLCC campuses. In addition to our regular General Studies curriculum, SLCC also seeks adjuncts capable/willing to teach in conjunction with our Early College Academy experiences (both mixed and exclusively High School students undertaking SLCC college-level courses), as well as Instructors capable of, or willing to train in, the teaching of multi-site (Video Conference-based) courses.

Qualifications Desired

• Experience teaching in the classroom (and with classroom technology) in Discipline
• Evidence of expertise in current trends in Discipline
• Evidence of Professional Development in Discipline or Related fields

Experience Required

• Master’s Degree (or appropriate MFA) in Discipline, or Master’s Degree in related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in the subject area is required.
• Demonstrate excellent oral & written communication skills.
