Job Description Summary

Position Summary:
Position is responsible for managing the federally funded Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant. Under the direction of the Workforce Development Program Manager the Business Developer is responsible to evaluate labor data to identify high demand occupations. The incumbent; promotes and develops employment and on-the-job training.
Essential functions Roles & Responsibilities:
• Research and build relationships with new clients by collaborating with local and regional employers.
• Responsible for coordinating with Hire Jobs to identify and coordinate and advise for job placement opportunities, standards and credentialing.
• Responsible for meeting with employers and developing a plan of action to meet the hiring needs and develop commitment –to –hire opportunities.
• Responsible for developing and coordinating placement through on the job training and apprenticeship training programs.
• General supervision of Business developer I
• Predictable and Reliable Attendance is required in order to provide consistency and continuity of educational services

Qualifications Desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet. A high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) required with the ability to learn and efficiently utilize various case management software programs. Ability to meet and/or exceed set goals and objectives. Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational skills and communication skills, both oral and written required. All applicants must be able to work occasional over-time and weekend hours.

Experience Required

Minimum Qualifications:
Business developer position requires a HIRE certification with a minimum of three years of related experience. Demonstrated knowledge of general laws and administrative policies governing workforce development programs; thorough knowledge of operational systems and management principles. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
